TIMELINE
Jul 7/20: Pothos 001 joins our family! As part of exercises and activities in The Artist’s Way this week, I decided to add five houseplants to our home. Pothos 001 is the third one. I purchased this plant during my Artist Date this week, when I visited Queens Fruit Market & Plants for the first time. There was a huge selection and I walked around and around the store until I settled on this jade pothos.
Jul 15/20: Pothos 001 has mealy bugs! I found the little critters gathered on some of the new growth. I think I caught it early enough so I’ll continue to check for pests every day.
Jul 28/20: Ugh, today was mealy bugs clean up, round 2. I guess the eggs hatched recently. I think I got them all, but I’ll keep looking for more. Pothos 001 is still growing beautifully so I think we’ll be able to rid it of the creepy crawlies soon.
Aug 6/20: We seem to have won the mealy bugs battle. I’ve continued checking Pothos 001 almost daily and there have been no new bugs — hooray! I’m not sure if you’ll be able to tell by the below photo, but Pothos 001 has been growing so well. It’s such a beautiful plant and I love its one variegated leaf, which gives it such character. See if you can spot it in the photos!
