TIMELINE

Introducing Pothos 004! I’m super excited about this one because it actually started out as two small plants. This variety (marble queen) is another that I’ve had my eye on, and I was thrilled to find a couple of them today. One was sitting on a shelf among some peace lilies and cacti. The other was nestled in with some polka dot plants and ferns. I couldn’t decide between the two, so I bought both with the intention to re-pot them together into one larger pot. And that’s exactly what I did!
Jul 23/20: Pothos 004 as two separate plants.
Jul 23/20: Both plants were root bound but particularly the one on the right. This is the first time I’ve re-potted a pothos and I was shocked to see this massive root network underneath such a small plant.
Jul 23/20: Here are the roots after I broke up the root ball.
Jul 23/20: Here are the roots on the plant on the left. It wasn’t as root bound as the plant on the right, but there was still a sizeable root network.
Jul 23/20: The two plants that make up Pothos 004 are now nestled together in a 5.5” clay pot. I hope they’ll be happy together.
Sep 20/20: I have such a love for pothos! This one is doing so so well. It’s grown a bunch since I re-potted it and it’s absolutely beautiful.
Sep 20/20: Close-up of some new growth from the stem of an existing leaf. Pothos are often confused with Philodendren vines, but there are several ways to tell the difference. Philodendren vines don’t grow new leaves from the stem of an existing leaf so that’s one clear difference (you can see some new growth on Philodendren 001 here).
Sep 20/20: Another new leaf emerging from the stem of an existing leaf — this one is closer to the potting mix.
Sep 20/20: Look at this beautiful variegation!
