TURMERIC MILK

Ingredients

For the turmeric spice mix:

  • 4 tablespoons ground turmeric

  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon white pepper (optional)

  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

  • ⅛ teaspoon ground clove (optional)

For the turmeric milk:

  • 1 heaped teaspoon turmeric milk mix

  • 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup

  • 2 teaspoons hot water

  • 1 cup milk

Makes 1 serving of turmeric milk (with lots of spice mix remaining for future servings).

Method

  1. To make the turmeric spice mix, add all ingredients to a small jar and shake or stir thoroughly to combine.

  2. To make turmeric milk, add turmeric milk mix, honey or maple syrup and hot water to a small saucepan.

  3. Whisk to combine.

  4. Add milk and warm over medium heat until just hot but not boiling, whisking a few times every now and then.

  5. Pour into a mug and enjoy while still warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground black pepper for white pepper.

  • I usually use oat or almond milk but you can use any milk you wish.
