General:

• Prefers bright indirect light

• Prefers aerated and well-draining potting mix

• Prefers high humidity

• Non-toxic

Watering:

• Water when first inch of potting mix is dry

• Water thoroughly until potting mix is saturated

• Fully drain excess water

Timeline

Aug 6/21: This is my very first prayer plant! Similar to Calathea 001, this plant opens during the day and closes up at night. This was part of a 12th wedding anniversary gift from hubby and I love it so much.

Based on my research, I think this plant might be slightly easier to care for than Calathea 001. It’s been growing VERY fast so that feels super rewarding.

I’m a bit apprehensive about how this plant will fare in the winter. Apparently, it goes dormant, which means it loses all its leaves and essentially plays dead. I’m hoping it will survive past the winter.
